JStatus ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use the JStatus platform.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Password (securely hashed)
If you sign up using Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from your Google account.
Profile & Listing Information
Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:
Status Owners
- Location and audience demographics
- Platform details and follower counts
- Pricing, availability, and scheduling preferences
Business Owners
- Business name and listing details
- Contact and promotional information
This information is displayed publicly as part of marketplace listings.
Payment Information
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
We store:
- Stripe customer IDs
- Transaction records
- Payout history
This information is used for accounting, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
Usage & Analytics Data
We collect limited technical data to operate and improve the platform:
- IP address
- Device type and browser
- Approximate location (city-level)
- Click activity on ad tracking links
This data is used only for analytics, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Operate and maintain the platform
- Process bookings, payments, and payouts
- Provide performance analytics
- Send service notifications and reminders
- Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms
- Improve platform functionality and user experience
We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information.
We only share data in limited situations:
Between Transaction Parties
Advertisers and status owners may see each other's:
- Listing name or business name
- Booking details necessary to complete transactions
Personal names and private contact information are not shared unless voluntarily provided.
Service Providers
We use trusted providers to operate the platform:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Supabase — secure file storage and database infrastructure
These providers process data only on our behalf.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or to:
- Protect user safety
- Prevent fraud
- Enforce our rights
4. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary:
- Account data — until account deletion
- Transaction records — retained for legal and accounting purposes
- Analytics data — retained in aggregated form
When you delete your account, personal data is removed from active systems.
5. Cookies & Tracking
We use only essential cookies:
- Authentication session cookies
- Security cookies
Ad tracking links may use a 7-day attribution cookie to measure campaign effectiveness.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
6. Email & WhatsApp Communications
We send:
- Booking confirmations
- Payment receipts
- Service notifications
You may opt out of optional emails at any time. CRM emails sent by status owners include their own unsubscribe options.
WhatsApp Messaging
If you provide a WhatsApp number in your profile, we use Meta's WhatsApp Business API to send transactional notifications — booking requests and confirmations, payment alerts, posting reminders, dispute updates, and similar account activity. We share your phone number and the content of these messages with Meta only to deliver them. We do not sell your number and do not use WhatsApp for marketing.
You can disable WhatsApp notifications at any time by removing your WhatsApp number or turning off WhatsApp in your profile settings.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard safeguards including:
- HTTPS encryption
- Secure password hashing
- PCI-compliant payment processing via Stripe
However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account
- Request a copy of your data
You can manage most data directly in your account settings.
Deleting Your Account and Data
To permanently delete your JStatus account and associated personal data:
- Sign in and go to Settings → Profile
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion
Your account, profile, listings, messages, and WhatsApp number are removed from active systems immediately. Transaction records required for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes are retained in line with section 4. If you cannot sign in, email support@jstatus.com from the address on your account and we will process the deletion on your behalf.
9. Children's Privacy
JStatus is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
10. International Users
JStatus is operated globally. By using the platform, you consent to your data being processed and stored in secure cloud infrastructure located in multiple regions.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via:
- Email notification
- In-app notice
